Despite the size of the organization behind the public diplomacy, the last three feet remain the biggest challenge.

 

Michael Ardaiolo discusses frontline public diplomacy and how the United States, in particular, can better communicate with foreign publics with James Thomas Snyder.

James Thomas Snyder is a former U.S. Congressional speechwriter and member of NATO’s International Staff in the public diplomacy division. He has contributed to the New York Times, the L.A. Times, the International Herald Tribune, and Foreign Policy, among others; and he is the author or translators of three books, including his most recent, The United States and the Challenge of Public Diplomacy, which was released this past October on Palgrave Macmillan.

Michael Ardaiolo is currently a student in Syracuse University's Public Diplomacy Master's Program: M.A. in International Relations from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs and M.S. in Public Relations from the S.I.
